WEEKLY UPDATE
MAY 18-23, 2020
As we all know the State Supreme Court shot down the extended stay-at-home order with the exception of schools. But Rock County still has the stay-at-home order until May 26th as far as I know. After that, Session will have to determine when it will be “safe” to return to in-house Sunday worship services and what, if any, restrictions there will be.
I hope all of you are well and enduring this situation as well as possible. This week should be nice with some temps in the 80s. We seem to be going from winter to summer in one week.
On Sunday May 24th we will be celebrating Ascension Sunday and Memorial Day. On May 31st we will be celebrating Pentecost and will receive the special Pentecost Offering.
Be safe, be well, and blessings always.
Pastor Lee

CAN YOU NAME THE PERSON?
1.) What is Pebble Flintstone’s mother’s name?
2.) While John was busy helping to form the republic, I was successfully managing our finances and farm business. I constantly challenged him concerning women’s rights and was the primary educator for our children, including U.S. President number 6.
3.) A “mother” to none but also a “mother to millions”; I was known for the following quotes: “I do because I must do something” and “Calcutta can be seen all over the world if you have eyes to see.”
4.) I was known as the People’s Princess, but my marriage did not survive, and my death was surround by mystery. Sir Elton John performed at my funeral.
5.) What product was featured in the ‘70s commercial starring an annoyed Mother Nature, whose tag line was “It’s not nice to fool Mother Nature.”
SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
The following devotional comes from a book titled, Mornings With Jesus, which is put out by Guideposts. I hope that you find it as inspirational as I did.
There is always a puzzle in progress in our home. Currently there is one that is finished, two more are almost complete, and a fourth that was complete until I tried to slide it off the dinner table onto cardboard. It fell and broke apart, which didn’t make my kids happy. After it tumbled, I got on my hands and knees and picked up every piece, knowing the puzzle wouldn’t be complete if I missed one.
When I accepted Christ, I became a piece of His greater picture. My life transformed from dark to light, and my despair turned to hope. The whole picture of my life changed, and I began to see myself differently. There was a special place where I was needed, where I belonged.
It’s true for each of us. Whether the piece looks common or is designed for a special purpose, we’re all needed to work together.
As II Timothy 2:20-21 (New International Version) says, “In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for special purposes and some for common use. Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.”
Just like each puzzle piece has a purpose, so do we in Christ’s kingdom. He always makes sure we fit into the perfect spot. And together we reflect a picture of Christ to the watching world.
