Notes from Session

~ Elder Bruce Nelson was welcomed as the newest member of Session.

~ Jean Dilley was elected Clerk of Session for calendar year 2019.

~ Deacons have met and revised their list for visits and serving home communion in 2019. Three (3) new    deacons were welcomed to the Board of Deacons.

~ The Mission Committee is coordinating the collection of soup and non-perishable food items for the “Souper “ Bowl collection during the month of January.

~ Elders voted to move forward with the grease trap project and await finalized numbers from Janesville Plumbing. The cost of the grease trap is more than what was initially presented as a larger grease trap is required which also entails cement work.

Elders voted to ask the congregation for additional funding for this project and will use money in the Capital Improvement Fund to offset the balance needed.

~ The storage shed located at the rear of the building was vandalized in early January. Nothing was taken; however, the exterior of the shed was damaged. A police report was filed and a claim started with Brotherhood Mutual.

~ To date we have received twenty-six (26) pledges for 2019 totaling $51,076.00.

~ Elders approved a proposal from the Memorial Committee to purchase new computers for the church office and pastor’s office along with updated software and accessories. The cost would be covered with money from the Memorial Fund.

~ The Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC) noted that there are three (3) additional candidates for the part time position of minister who are to be interviewed in the coming weeks.

~ Elders reviewed the draft of the 2019 budget. After discussion elders approved the 2019 budget and will present it to the congregation at the Annual Financial Meeting to be held following the worship service on January 27th.
